Product Summary
The Jamo S 810 Sub is the kind of subwoofer you go for when you’re looking for a huge sound with a minimal footprint. With dimensions of 20″ (H) x 15.9″ (W) x 8.9″ (D), you’ll be surprised at the spaces this ultra-slim cabinet can fit into. With a 9″ depth, it can even be hidden underneath a sofa for ultimate flexibility in a small space. Subwoofers with compact cabinet designs are rare. The Jamo S 810 has a completely reimagined design that results in a slim cabinet for exceptional placement flexibility. A Mono RCA port is available for connectivity. This is compatible with an LFE connection via a receiver.
Its 10″ Polyfiber driver, which can be oriented for side or front-firing, is housed in a cabinet designed to offer high-performance acoustics. It’s also powered by a 150W bottom-mounted class D amplifier. The Jamo S 810 active subwoofer has a frequency response of 36Hz to 200 Hz. That’s not great for a 10″ subwoofer, but the slim profile was expected to come with limitations. With the Jamo S 810 Sub, you can achieve a volume of up to 110dB of undistorted and powerful bass reproduction.
As far as urban living environments go, the Jamo S 810 Sub will fit seamlessly into most existing setups as it can practically be placed on either side and anywhere. It will also perform best in small to mid-sized spaces.

Highlights of Jamo S 810
Here are some major features you’ll find on the Jamo S 810 Sub:
Ultra Slim Cabinet + Affordable
One of the main attractions of the Jamo S 810 sub is its ultra-slim cabinet design. This design offers exceptional space management, making it perfect for modern homes with limited space.
In addition to this ultra-slim cabinet design, its form factor further enhances its exceptional space management feature. The Jamo S 810 subwoofer can be placed so it is side or front-firing. Its compact cabinet allows for extra tight placement around any media console. Its limited depth even allows it to be hidden underneath a sofa or other furniture. That’s coupled with its bottom-mounted amplifier and angled power plug.
With the exceptional placement flexibility offered by this subwoofer, you can create full cinema surround systems in any space with ease.
Bass Boost Without The Rumble
A lot of speakers deliver low-frequency sound but with a lot of rumble. This is not the case with the Jamo S 810 sub. You can still experience great bass with 150 watts and a frequency response range of 36Hz to 200Hz. This subwoofer can create pressure levels of up to 110 dB without rumbles or rattling of the cabinet.
Lower frequencies needed during playback of movies and music are still present. Even from 36Hz, you will still enjoy those good punch and powerful bass lines that we now look forward to hearing from your home theater or music set up.
150 Watt Active Subwoofer
The Jamo S 810 is an active subwoofer, powered by a bottom-mounted amplifier. The amplifier offers a peak power of 150 watts and continuous power of 75 watts. That’s enough to create the thump many will want. The limited excursion of this subwoofer limits the deepness, but it can still output bass you can feel.
It comes with a simple control setup for easy use. Some of the controls you’ll find include: a volume control knob, a low pass filter knob, and a phase switch. Whether you’re setting up an office 2.1 system or full cinema surround systems, the amplification on the Jamo S 810 sub packs enough juice to deliver powerful bass that will meet the low-frequency needs of your sound setup.
Premium and Modern Design
The Jamo S 810 subwoofer is designed to offer exceptional space management. Its ultra-slim cabinet makes it perfect for fitting into your space – large or small. It’s also designed with materials and finish options that are contemporary, making it suitable for most modern home environments.
A look at its compact cabinet will reveal a European design that highlights its minimalist lines. Its linen grilles covers are woven and magnetic. The vinyl finish and beautiful accents of the wood grain are a nice touch. There are also multiple color options with similarly attractive designs.
Pros and Cons
Pros:
- Compact Cabinet + Flexible Placement
- Quality Bass Reproduction
- Attractive Design + Multiple Color Options
Cons:
- Frequency Response Disappointing (36Hz – 180Hz)
- Slim Design Is A Tradeoff For Deep Bass
In Conclusion: Jamo S810 Review
The Jamo S 810 subwoofer is designed to provide good bass despite its small footprint. It definitely delivers a quality niche product. It will perform admirably in small and medium-sized rooms. It does only allows for a Mono-RCA connection. That should be sufficient for a sub pre-out on a receiver though. There is a sacrifice for deeper bass. That is the tradeoff for the slim footprint.
Jamo’s larger 10-inch subwoofer (Jamo C 910) is actually one of our favorite budget options. It’s not truly a substitute though. With it’s slim profile, you’d have to opt for an even smaller traditional subwoofer for something as small.
