SoundUnlocked started the way most audio obsessions do. Constantly pondering the next upgrade with a budget that never quite stretches far enough. I had a slow realization that the rabbit hole has no bottom. But I also realized going down the rabbit hole was something I enjoyed.
I’m Keith, and I built this site because the audio world has a lot of content that’s either too basic to be useful or too deep in the weeds to help someone actually make a decision. I wanted something in the middle. Content written to be honest, specific, and written by someone who’s actually chasing the same value-per-dollar tradeoffs you are.
My own audio systems run the gamut from streamer-DAC-Amp desktop setups to a full Dolby Atmos home theater system…and I’m of course looking to upgrade eventually. If you’re trying to build something that sounds great without overspending, you’re in the right place.
